Wakeboarding

Wakeboarding is one of the fastest growing extreme watersports in the world

Overview - Wakeboarding

Wakeboarding is a combination of snowboarding, waterskiing, skateboarding and surfing.

For decades, surfing has been a favorite sport of beach dwellers. On the flat, on the flat, on the flat, on the flat, on the flat, on the flat, on the flat, on the flat, on the flat, on the flat, on the flat. This eventually became a unique new sport which we now know as wakeboarding. Wakeboarding is currently shortlisted as a new event for the 2020 Olympic Games.

Come to Crest, try this amazing new sport, and receive quality coaching from highly experienced instructors. Once the basics have been mastered, you will be able to have fun with the wake and riding with your own style.

Wakeskating

Wakeskating is a cross-pollination of a wakeboarding and a skateboarding

Overview - Wakeskating

Wakeskating is not just an activity, it's not just a sport; it truly is a way of life.

When looking at a wakeskate closely, we see that the general shape of the board is similar to that of a wakeboard, but it has no bindings. The top surface of the board is covered with griptape (in a similar fashion to a skateboard) or a soft, high-traction, foam covering that is more forgiving to riders when it comes to the inevitable crashes. The foam allows for the board to be ridden barefoot. Riders usually wear shoes to have more control on the board.

At Crest, wakeskaters can choose which vessel they wish to ride behind. If you’re looking to try and improve your wake jumps, we have the Mastercraft ready at your disposal. For the beginner riders and those looking to improve their flat tricks, we offer outboard boat and jetski tow options.

Wakesurfing

Resulting from a 1955 surfers experiment, over the last 5 years the sport has grown and become much more commercial

Overview - Wakesurfing

There’s no need to travel to Hawaii if you want to learn how to surf! You can experience the thrill of surfing here at Crest! Get behind our boat and surf the endless wave that is its wake.

During the 1950’s surfers began to experiment by trying to surf behind the boat wake. Soon after, the sport of wakesurfing was born. In the last 5 years, the sport has grown and become much more commercial.

The waterstart technique with wakesurfing is similar to the wakeskate starting technique. The line you hold is very short so that you can just drop into the wake and begin surfing it, at which point you can throw the line back into the boat. We have extra ballast to ensure that the wake is easy to surf, but we recommend that you come as a group, so that you have the ride of your life. This is an exciting new sport, so try it here at Crest.

Waterskiing

Waterskiing is one of the oldest Watersports invented

Overview - Waterskiing

In 1922, Ralph Samuelson from Minnesota came up with the idea that skiing could also be done on water. His first few attempts were unsuccessful. He used barrel staves and tried being pulled by a boat.

Nowadays, there are many different disciplines within the sport; waterskiing on two skis, trick skiing, mono skiing and ski jumping, even without skis (barefoot).

At Crest we offer waterskiing on two skis and a single ski. Lately waterskiing has become much easier and more accessible for people of all ages. We have professional equipment from O’Brien and we even have the equipment to get the smallest children up and riding. Many people think this is a difficult sport which isn’t for everyone, but we are proving these people wrong every day by teaching people to ski in a single lesson.
